Ticket sales are underway for the 6th annual SONIC BLOOM, an electronic music and arts festival scheduled to take place in Georgetown, CO on June 24-26, 2011.
Tucked away in the gorgeous landscpes of the Colorado Rockies, SONIC BLOOM
has been a destination for die-hard music enthusiasts and artists,
alike, for the past six years running. Intimate, and enchanting, the
festival's allure has spread, attracting attendees from around the
world.
SONIC BLOOM has become synonymous with cutting edge electronic
music. Stars are born in this mountainous enclave - the vanguards on the
scene today have all come through SONIC BLOOM, at some point,
and this year is no different. The lineup tips its hat to the pioneers,
veterns and the hottest newcombers in the industry including headliners EOTO, TIPPER SOUND EXPERIENCE, MALA (one-half of original UK dubstep explorers Digital Mystikz), VibeSquaD, Random Rab, Zilla, MartyParty, Heyoka, An-ten-nae, David Starfire, LYNX, Break Science, Janover, SPL, Gramatik, NastyNasty and more than 50 other innovative electronic artists.
Picturesque doesn't even begin to describe SONIC BLOOM's new home. Located less than an hour from Denver in Georgetown, CO,
Shadows Ranch provides the perfect setting for a weekend of musical,
artistic, and spiritual exploration. The ranch is literally in the
shadows of giant, granite behemoths at the gateway to the Rocky
Mountains. A river flows through the site, with its clear pond, lush
grassy fields and shady campgrounds only a short distance from the
stages. Plenty of parking will be available onsite as well.
More than just music, SONIC BLOOM will cater to each of your
senses. Relax, invigorate, and expand your mind and body with morning
yoga sessions, exotic foods, incredible art, and fascinating workshops.
Attendees are encouraged to wear costumes and generally show off their

To gear up for the festival a number of coast to coast festivals have

Dallas as well as another two pre-party events to come in San Francisco on Friday, May 20th at 103 Folsom and again in New York City on June 11th.

You hear it at parties. You hear it at shows. You hear it walking down Pearl St. It is no secret that Boulder, CO is crazy about electronic music.
In recent years, Boulder and the surrounding area have become seemingly enamored with this style of musical production; Shows sell out quickly, and one is hard pressed to attend a party or gathering not including a live DJ or electronic musician.
CU Astrophysics Junior, Christopher Caligaris, 21, has come to develop a new genre of music he calls "Electrosong" It combines elements of electronically produced “womp” “womp” with acoustic and electric singer songwriting tactics.
Caligaris explains, “I'm trying to put the intimate back into the machine. Bring a little humanism to the synthesized music, while still creating a classic production”
Caligaris has been playing with electronic music since he was a young boy. He used to have a HotKeyz, TYCO brand Keytar—a keyboard/guitar hybrid—that he would press buttons on to fiddle around with the pre-recorded loops. These days Caligaris is focusing on his electronic hybrid project which he has named, “GODLAZER.”
GODLAZER is a comprehensive work combining elements of Christopher’s past with dreams of the future. Caligaris has been a musician for most of his life, although he first hit the stage with a modern dance performance at age 6, written and reviewed by the New York Times Magazine. Caligaris has been playing and singing guitar for 15 years now.
In the recent past, Christopher Caligaris has gone on tour around Colorado in a Nordic Death Metal band named "Tribes of Asher". Caligaris explains, “I loved the energy from the crowd. I thought to myself, how can I reproduce a similar type of energy in a different setting and actually create a sense of intimate connection among audience members at a show? Electronic music production has been the glove that fits for me to move energy in a room.”
When asked what drew him to electronic music, Caligaris said that it invokes a feeling to let go of what a person has experienced in one’s day.
“I feel like electronica relieves a lot of stress in people. I see so much happiness in people’s faces when they listen to electronica,” Caligaris remarked while sitting in his living room, which is full of turntables and several synthesizers and processors.
Caligaris believes that electronic music has a lot of potential, stating that, “If we can find a way to connect what we want in our head to come out of those speakers, then I think that is the ultimate goal of technology, to bridge the gap between your imagination and the physical world we live in.”
